BGB Group Expands Leadership Team—Names New President;
Appoints Chief of Business Integration
Nearly 500 employees strong, BGB Group is a healthcare agency that continues to provide new
services to meet growing demand for digital innovation and personalized science-driven marketing
New York City, NY (March 3, 2023) – Consistent agency growth and continuously evolving client needs have fueled several strategic leadership additions at BGB Group (BGB). Today, the agency announced that familiar faces along with new talent will guide their teams into the future, including the appointment of long-valued BGBer Teresa Day to the role of President and former Juice Pharma leader Art Chavez as Chief of Business Integration.
The agency also hired two new account management EVPs—Matt Paré and Ryan Taggart—who will each oversee the management of various client relationships. Paré joins BGB from Omnicom Health Group while Taggart joins from Klick Heath.
These leadership changes will fortify BGB’s focus on employee engagement and seamlessly integrate key capabilities, including scientific consulting, digital innovation, market access and payer marketing, and personalized physician and patient engagement strategies. Dedication to overall employee engagement will continue to be led by Kit Kempler, who was promoted from within the agency to Chief People Officer. The agency continues to boast one of the largest medical teams in the pharma marketing industry—over one hundred employees with advanced degrees, including PharmDs, PhDs, and MDs, are integrated across every brand team. These teams support a diverse client roster that includes both emerging biotech assets and global blockbuster brands.
“We have always strived to surpass client expectations by staying at the forefront of emerging and future client needs,” said Gregory Passaretti, a Founding Partner at BGB Group. “These changes and additions to our leadership team will build on our strengths and bring in new expertise and perspective to the emerging trends that we are seeing in pharma marketing. Our competitive advantage has always been our people. What sets them apart and makes us invaluable to our clients is their unique blend of scientific acumen, creativity, and their push for innovative ways to deliver messaging that resonates with providers and patients.”
Day, prior to becoming President, Teresa served as the agency’s Chief Operating Officer. She joined BGB Group in 2010 and ascended within the agency to lead client services as well as the agency’s business teams and operational departments.
“What’s unique about our agency is our commitment to providing an employee experience that yields exceptional client work,” said Teresa Day, newly appointed President of BGB Group. “It’s about giving our people the tools they need to be successful, nurturing everyone’s strengths, and creating an environment that fosters ongoing growth and development. Throughout my tenure at BGB, I have always been dedicated to making sure our culture is a top priority. It’s proven to be invaluable as we continue to grow our business, attract top talent, and expand opportunities for all our employees.”
Art Chavez, a proven industry leader, has served in previous roles such a Partner, Chief Client Officer, and most recently, Chief Strategy Officer at Juice Pharma. In a newly established role as Chief of Business Integration, Chavez will work with BGB department heads to manage the integration of the agency’s new capabilities into its existing portfolio of services, with an initial focus on digital innovation, payer/market access, and scientific consulting. He will also oversee BGB’s Growth team to manage the development of new capabilities, procurement relationships, and the translation of expansion strategies across the agency. Prior to Juice, Chavez’s experience in leading agency efforts has included time at The Bloc, Grey, and GSW.
Kit Kempler was elevated to Chief People Officer after previously serving as the agency’s Senior Vice President of Employee Engagement. Kempler, who is an established human resources leader, honed her experience working in entertainment at Showtime, CBS, and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, before entering the healthcare world with Cline Davis & Mann in 2007.
Two additional senior leadership hires bring an average of twenty years of experience in healthcare communications. Matt Paré has extensive experience leading industry-recognized omnichannel and inclusive patient communication efforts, and Ryan Taggart has led agency-client relationships with a spectrum of large and mid-size pharma companies, as well as emerging biotechnology companies.
These strategic leadership appointments come after years of tremendous growth and continued expansion of key capabilities focused on both existing and future client needs.
